Dispersion

 

He arrived where invisible men

waited

The boy and him looked at the window

and walked out

as if the continuation of the sky

and gravity

had cancelled

 the first 5 blocks of that building.

They landed in another country

 for 3 days

where time melted

under the pressure of fear.

His skin, dry and hot

broke until the child was held

in that corner,

with his voices,

raised to a level

where the earth became remote

and again as

if the planet had shrunk

to the size of a nut.

His steps in the carpeted land

were soft and empty,

the body delayed by the lack of gravity.

The squad

fired

against him

without warning

it was mockery

all the same

they killed you

you lost your teeth

your ears

the lungs followed

and now

30 years on

your heart

they got your gut and liver

the firing squad men

are laughing

 

SIERRA LEONE

 

She is blind

              by day light,

    by night

her silent visions.

The black girl,

has two black eyes,

              does not know

                    she can see.

The black girl,

with  two black eyes,

does not know.

            Her red eye

          and her black eye

and the visions of the night

            see the world

in red 

        and black .

            Her eyes look around in dreams,

her two eyes look and hide,

            she does not know

she has seen.
